Is In Other Words a middleman agency?

We are not a middleman agency, nor are we a marketplace. Our members are established independent workers on their own. Sometimes we would join forces to deliver end-to-end services.

Can I hire an individual instead of a team?

Yes, of course! You can choose to work with an individual member or a team of our selection, depending on the scale, scope, and specifics of your project.

Should you prefer to hire a team, we will assign a project manager who will be in charge for keeping you in the loop, and will act as a SCRUM master for the team to ensure timely delivery and smooth working process.

In cases where your project requires an expertise that none of our members has, we are willing to refer you to friends and colleagues outside the collective that we find fitting — free of charge. However, since we will not be handling the project, we are not responsible for any challenges that might occur. We can only vouch for the credibility and competence of our members.

I’d like to hire you for a project. How do I do it?

It’s really quite simple. Get in touch with us by filling out the contact form or reach out to us via e-mail. We will assess the specifics of your project and send you a quotation as well as the timeline. Upon your approval, we will start the project immediately or according to the agreed timeline. Sometimes, if the project duration runs longer than a month, we may require a small deposit before the project commences.

How much do you charge?

Our rates are fair and competitive, although additional surcharge applies for emergency work (deadline within 24 hours). We charge depending on the complexity, type, and volume of the project, so we really appreciate it if you can provide us with as much and detailed information as possible.

I am a non-profit organization with a limited budget. Can I get a discount?

Yes! We are passionate supporters of LGBTQIA+ and humanitarian causes. Submit your organization’s proof of non-profit status, or your company mission statement, and we are happy to give you a special discount. We also provide pro-bono work for refugees and victims of violent crimes, especially legal translation or interpretation.

Do you have retainer packages?

Yes, and we will assign a small but dedicated team and an Account Manager for you. We have retainer packages for 3, 6, and 12 months, which can always be renewed if you wish to extend our partnership.

I am a freelancer. Can I join your collective?
